Hey guys here are a few pics of the LaRue 7.0 FF Rail.  Mark LaRue went back and changed a few things to make this even better.

The spring loaded retention pin is gone.  It has been replaced by a "keeper" that keys onto your upper and completely locks everything up.

Here's a pic of the whole unit broken down into parts. Rail, handguard nut, barrel, keeper (anti-roll device), and screws.

This is a pic of the near end of the rail, minus the barrel nut, handguard nut, and keeper.  The two SS alignment pegs can be seen.

This is a pic to show you how the keeper fits up against the rail with the two screws installed.  The appropriate size wrench and LocTite are included.

Here is an overhead view of the rail.  The numbers are blurred by my camera ONLY.  They are crystal clear on the rail.

Guys, I wish you could see this rail in person.  The finish is simply amazing.  Burr free, and smooth as glass.  There is no sandblasted feel like you get with most all other aluminum products.  All lettering/numbering is done correctly and clearly.

All four rails are Mil Spec 1913, guaranteed.

To install, you will need to remove your FS, FSB, and your barrel.  Piece of cake, with the proper tools.

This rail will be finishing up a build, just as soon as the barrel gets here later this week.  I will post more pics when it is complete.

It will be available very soon from Grant at G&R Tactical and from Wes at MSTN.
If you like, you can also order direct from Mark via his website.

Oh, and BTW.....LIVE FREE OR DIE

Great!!!  Appreciate those shots.

Approximately, what did it cost if I may ask?

Wished I saw this on Friday and prior to ordering a Knight's Armament RAS.  While it wouldn't much matter for visible/IR lighting,  I've been concerned with the ipotential mpact any wobble of the handguard would have on a sighting systm such as Red Dot or Laser.

$247, plus a few bucks for the big brown truck.
With TD panels it will go for $262, plus BBT.  (Damn good deal there!)

I think Grant beat me to it.

LaRue just took over the rail-forearm world

Pretty soon Mark will be known as "Mr. Badass Knife Maker" too.

You guys should check out the new issue of Tactical Knives.  The LTK looks like it could castrate something pretty mean.....

Counter Sunk heads on the retaining screws would look a lot cleaner.

So, like Grant, I got my LaRue FF rail mounted up today!

I took some pics for you guys to drool over also.

The rail went on without a hitch.

Now I need to go heat it up tommorow.

This may just be me, but your first pic makes the magazine appear to be longer than a standard 30 round USGI magazine.  Just looks weird to me....

But the LaRue stuff looks good!

mattld,

you're right...it does look funny.  But it's a standard Labelle 30rd mag.

Guys, this thing is nice......  Mark LaRue hit the nail square on the head with this one.

Excellent post and pics Monty! The LaRue Tactical 7.0 FF rail system addresses a lot of the KNOWN issues with FF tubes (barrel nut and HG nut backing off). With this new barrel/HG nut locking system, no one will EVER have this issues again! The fit and finish is the best I have seen on ANY rail system, all four rails meet the 1913 spec (as Monty said) and is priced below the competition!

Is that common with the KAC FF RAS?

Is there enough space on the lower rail to slide on a KAC rail panel, or do the FSB and lug get in the way?

just hard to tell from the pics

Thanks

Am I the only one who noticed "Live Free or Die" etched on the right side above the bottom rail?

Nice touch.  Sounds like LaRue is 110% pro-citizen RKBA.

I'm thinking of getting a LMT 10.5" with a DD 9.5, but if Larue will make something similar to the 9.5, I may be interested.

So, the big question, what does the Larue do better than the DD?  And what does the DD do better than the Larue?  I can see some obvious differences, but for the guys that have used (or sold) both, what's the straight poop?

Or maybe the bigger question is when will the new DD rail be available?  (Continuous top rail and removeable lower rail.)

That's the truth.  How about the URXII and whatever the hell Colt cooked up for the SCAR submission?  If I was a rich man, I'd go with the MRP right now, but I don't know if something better is waiting around the corner.

Too many cool new products, not enough info or money.

My best guestimate is 2-3 months.

Any info on the new DD rails?

EDITED to fix code.  Also to say see my post on page two from today (actually just now) bumping the thread back to life.  If we're waiting on the government to decide SCAR, then who knows (and Grant is right, it could be another 18 months).  But it sounds like something will be happening with SCAR here in the near future.  What, I don't know.  We'll see if anyone answers my recent post.
