I saw some pig tail gas tubes in the new DPMS catalog. Are these things popular at all? I have never heard of them.

Interesting.  Seems like they could have made the same length in a smaller profile IMO.

These have been around for a good long while.  I never saw them become popular.  They are usually used on barrels that are less than 10" to try and give more dwell time.  It's kinda the same concept as a "fat boy" I guess.

IF I needed something to regulate the gas I would just use a PRI adjustable gas tube.  But that is not me I don't handle a bunch of gear.  Ymmv

Friend of mine bought one to try to get his SBR to run. Complete failure and waste of money was the end result.

This is the manufacturer, www.m16clinic.com/.  I use them to slow down full auto 7.5" and 10.5" uppers; most 7.5 won't run 100% without one.  Downside is that the gas port has to be enlarged for installation.
