I haven't had the chance to see the Surefire rail yet. Will the panels from a Knights rail fit on the Surefire? I know by now someone has had to have tried it!

They should.  But I have no first-hand experience with it.

Yes they can, but they don't lock in.

So will the new XT panels from MagPul work on the Surefire M73??

I know they will work on KAC rails.......right?!?

M4arc got KAC panels to fit on his Surefire M73. They fit nice and look great.

I have the Surefire rail handguard for an HK weapon.  The KAC panels do go on and lock in, as on each end of the rail I can see the inside rail being a bit narrower, to fit the spring clip.

I've got their railed forearm for the Remington 870. It's a somewhat earlier one and I had to beat the RAS panels onto the rail with a mallet.

I know consider them "Remington specific".  I do know that different generations of RAS panels seem to fit tighter than others from my experience.

I have KAC panels on my M73 and they lock in place.  I'll try and get some photos up tonight.

I recall seeing a pic of the M73 having the deeper end notches to lock the spring clip.  Maybe older rails didn't have them?

They do fit on mine. Tight as can be at first, after they were on there a day or so, they loosened up and I can slide them on/off with heavy finger pressure.
Both ends do have the smaller cross slot for the KAC panel clips.
