Hi everyone hope the holidays are going well for you.
I was wondering how well a .223 HBAR 20" or 24" flattop with a 10X scope would so in a sniper role?
What would be the effective range?

Airborne, it depends on what the role of the gun is INTENDED for.  As a sniper rifle, it would work if you have NO objects to penetrate, and you are within a reasonable distance (dicated by bullet type and weather conditions).  Is it the best?  Nope.  It just depends on the job you intend on doing.  Many will argue that as a sniper you don't need the rapid fire capability that you have with the AR.  I tend to agree, most police dept shootings are within 75 yds, BUT, you will generally only need one round if the shooter does his/her job (gotta be PC here).

It all boils down to the specifics of the mission you are assigned.  HTH
