After much shopping I found a what seems to be a best deal on M4 uppers from KY imports.

1. Colt 16" Hbar 1/9 twist w/o carryhandle, minus bolt assembly.
$580

2. Colt 16" M4 1/7 twist WITH carry handle, minus bolt assembly.
$700

These are both preban. Which one should I choose? I personally think 16" M4 barrel looks funky, but I heard advantages of 1/7 over 1/9 twist. Also I really don't need Carry handle, and end up having to sell it on EE since I plan to use optic/BUIS.

I would get the Colt M4 1/7 and tell them to keep the carry handle to save more money.

That's not bad, some years back I got Colt 1/7 16", upper M4 & Colt marked, complete with semi bolt carrier assembly, det carrying handle, side sling adapter, manual, accu-wedge & Colt Tool, for like $549 NIB.

Many times I've wished I had a 14.5" with permanently attached FLASH HIDER/Compensator.

But, I think the extra 1.6" makes for a better carbine, accuracy wise.

Well, I did confirm with KY IMports, and they do have above items in stock. I am not sure if they will leave out A3 carry handle for -$120. As for Hoplite, their price is $799 for their 14.5 upper, and $750 for 16" upper. Thanks for your opinion. I will go with KY Imports' M4 upper for $700 (-$120 carry handle).
