I need some advice on my near purchace of a rifle. I have wanted a Bushy varminter 24" flutted bbl. I have read about different brands and what not. I would like a shorter barrel 16", and I have read from other forums that accuracy is not effected much if any going with a shorter one. I hunt coyotes and other varmints. Do most of you guys build your own from different makers such as an upper from here, and a lower from there, or what. I would just like an heads up on this before I spend 1000.00 + on a unit just to later end up taking it apart to change this or that, not that I will never take it apart. Any info, suggestions, on the different manufacturers, and or quality would be greatly appreciated as this will be my first AR. Thanks

If you build it yourself, or even just buy an upper from one maker, and a lower from annother, you won't spend any $1000 for the rifle itself; that'll come later, when "modification" time comes around, trust me. [;)]
Personally I like Bushmaster, but RRA is (from all accounts I've read here) just as good--and slightly less expensive. If you plan on scoping it, you'll definitely want a flattop upper. Just shop around, and remember, the equipment exchange is always open (but do yourself a favor, and check out the feedback section before you EVER send any money).

Here's a link to a thread you may find helpful.

And for any help in assembling a kit, should you decide to go that route, the "Build it yourself" section will have the answers to any questions you might have.
