can a bayonet be properly mounted to a barrel extender? the barrel extender is that little piece of metal that fits onto the barrel of a 14.5 before mounting a regular a2 flash suppressor in order to bring it out to 16 inches in length. It was something made for people who wanted the regular a2 flash hider instead of something fancy.

If the barrel extended is the same OD as the A2 flash hider - then yes.  IMO, a barrel extender and A2 flash hider IS kind of fancy as opposed to a longer A2 type flash hider, and probably a little costly to buy both units.
