Okay, I know that Colt made a few large-hole A3 uppers, but they are hard to find. I believe a gentleman by the name of Dennis Todd may have used to sell them, but have no contact info for him.

Daniel Defense is now making them as well, although currently on backorder.

Are any other companies currently making them? I recently bought a transferable SP1 M16 conversion with a large-hole pivot, but don't want to use an adapter in order to use a small-hole A3 upper. I want to use an A3 upper with a large-hole pivot. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The large hole A3 uppers that Colt made were on the early R6700 Sporter Competition HBars.  They have no forge markings and they are dark Colt grey in color.  If you can find one, it will run you about $400.  In 1993, Dr. Dennis Todd did a run of 100 Colt M4 small pin uppers that he drilled out into large hole pivot pin uppers.  I recently sold one of these on this board.  Daniel Defense has done the same thing with Les Baer Custom A3 uppers.  They may require a little filing of the pivot hole for proper fit but it is your most viable and economic option short of buying a complete large hole Sporter Competition rifle and parting it out.
