No. Totally different dimensioned lower. Some parts similarity (triggers, hammer, etc.)

The answer to both of your questions is no. The AR10 lower is bigger to accomadate for the longer round (i.e. 7.62NATO).

Others have answered the direct question. If your reason to ask the question is to have a larger caliber in an AR15, you will have to go with one of the semi-custom AR15 uppers. Here are some of them (Sorry if I missed a few)

I think Alexander Arms makes the .21 Genghis which is 5.45.

Actaully, I'll soon be marketing a special tool for converting AR15s into AR10s. It'll be called the "mag well stretcher" and you'll attach it to a 10 ton hydraulic car jack...

Yup, Alexander Arms makes the .21 Genghis. Mine is an M4A3 configged upper... even the barrel has the M203 bontour. Nice set-up.

olyarms.com has .223WSSM and .243WSSM uppers. BIG step up in size over others mentioned.

With the right mag blocks the AR-10 should be able to do everything the AR-15 can do plus that which the AR-10 can do! Then, you can come up with the AR-SUPER based on a BAR magazine and use anything from a 30-06 case down!!! So, how many millions do you have for us to help you spend! The limit to what can be done with either system is ONLY limited by how much you have to spend! If you want to rework an AR-15 to use M-14 mags.... IT CAN BE DONE... but I hate to think about the cost! |
