For the last few months, I've been trying to decide on a new gun for hog hunting.  Several of the places I hunt have some pretty large feral hogs, plus a few Russian boar.  I had narrowed it down to a Ruger SRH in .480 or a Marlin .440 lever action until I started reading about the .50 Beowulf.  I figure a 334gr JHP @ 1900fps would do the job nicely.  Plus, once I get the empty brass, I can start working up some good handloads.

I finally got one this week and it's amazing.  Went to the range this morning and was able to produce 3" seven-shot groups offhand at 100yds with the EoTech.  Luckily, I only needed 5 shots to zero the sight or it could have gotten expensive.  I may get a 4x scope for this upper so I can shrink those groups a little.  But 3MOA is good enough for hogs at the ranges I usually hunt.
