What does the term "slabside" mean? What size is this so called "large pivot pin"? I have a Pre Ban #6601 with the blue box label that I purchased new, in 1994, that the uppers and lowers swap with my other Bushmaster & PWA uppers and lowers. Thanks.

Measure the front pivot pin where the lower and upper pivot. A large pin is .312" in diameter and a small pin (standard) is .250" in diameter.

'Slab-side' refers to the older SP_1 receivers.  They lack the ridge surrounding the mag release that was incorporated on the A1, giving them a slab-sided appearance.

They also lacked the hump on the upper for the forward assist, and the ridge on the lower for the push pin spring and detent.  They were, in fact, "slab sided" [:D]

Oh yeah,  I forgot about those. I was referring to the lower only.

Large pivot pins usually have a twin screw set up, instead of the more common front push-pin that everyone else uses.
