With the release of the ARMS #58, I'm looking for a 16" midlength barrel, chrome-lined, 1/7 twist, threaded muzzle, and bayo lug on front sight tower. Armalite can only do 1/8 or 1/9 (I've already asked), and those that can do 1/7 don't offer midlength configurations.

Anyone know of someone that can make this up?

The only compay that I know that does these cannot sell to civilians...

I have a Krieger SS 16" Midlength in 1:7 on somethign coming - I dont feel under armed with it not being Chromed...


The Mk12's are not chromed and they have been holding up very well apparently...

- Dont get me wrong I still have a hockey sock full of chrome barrels but.

Bout the closest thing I have heard about to your needs would be the Millenium "dissipator" type uppers that Fulton Amory was putting out a few years back
Clint opened up the gas ports on these (made from 20" 1 in 7 twist- light wt GI barrels and cut them down to 16") you could get them in pre ban configuration on your upper...or theirs
with railed handguards (PRI I believe)

Alright, I've e-mailed Kurt and he tells me he can do this. All I need now is a chrome-lined barrel blank suitable for this project. I've seen M16A2 blanks on the odd occasion, in the white without the gas port drilled. Anyone know where I can find one, or something similar? eBay and web searches have turned up no suitable results. Gun Parts Corp. has stripped Colt AR15A2 barrels available:

Watch eBay, there's a regular vendor that puts up 20" 1/7 chromelined FN barrels ( yes, real ones with all the markings), every 4 or 5 weeks.
