I'm once again debating the purchase of a new varmint upper for my Colt. However, it bugs me that I can get a brand new Savage 10FP in .223 for nearly the same price as a new upper. What are some of the reasons you have found for gettting a new upper as opposed to a new rifle?

Because eventually, know know damned well that you'll go ahead and get a lower for it, too.
