I went to a gunshow today and saw some A1 stocks for about $15 without the buffer tube, spring or buffer.  I am looking for something shorter than the A2 stock for my son, but I think the short tactical stock (like RRA's) is too short.  My question is -- what buffer tube would I use for the A1 stock?  Does the standard A2 buffer tube work without using the spacer?  If so, I'll have to find a nice A1 stock to try out.

Thanks,
MM

An A2 buffer tube will work fine. Use it without the spacer.

a standard buffer tube will work. IF you're interested, i've got a spare M16 buttstock. No trapdoor, rubber butt, swivel sling on bottom...from an early SP1 or M16. lmk if interested.
