They are hands down the best made and best looking uppers I have ever owned. I've had mine for over 2 years and it has never failed me. Tony Rumore is great to deal with and is always into some cool project or another.
It is my favorite upper. I have the .50 AE lightweight version. Bob |

Top shelf stuff.....in all the calibers I've used 440 Corbon, 458 SOCOM, 50AE.
Lowers are nice too, machined I believe. Finish is top rate. Teppo Jutsu makes similarly fine products in 458 SOCOM and some others he is working on. Ed |

I would like to see a .30 cal or .248 project using one of the new WSM family of cartridges in the AR15 size frame.

His site has a suggestion board or a guest book or something. He might check that. Wonder what the case diamter is of the new WSSM's? Personally, I'd like to see a full power 444 Marlin or 45-70 or 450 Marlin. Now THAT would be a serious ass kicker for CQB and hunting, or ALL varieties. Ed |

I am going to stuff this into the AR-10 very shortly. .308 is on the left. Just waiting
for DPMS to deliver my AR-10. I really don't think the AR-15 bolt is going to hold up to the WSSM type round. The bolt would be cut back so far, it would probably break especially with it necked down below about 44 caliber. The more you neck it down, the greater the rearward bolt thrust will be. The one on the right is a 50 Alaskan case with the rim remachined into a rebated configuration and necked to .458. Perfomance should be about 100fps under a .458 Winchester Mag.
The 450 Alaskan is a bit different and had too much body taper to work well in the magazine so I had to go with this route. The cartridge has yet to be named. |

I have to agree with AR15forfun & SHIVAN! Tonys uppers are the best looking uppers & they do what the name implies!(SLEDGEHAMMER) I have the 458/440. The 50AE is on the way. Tony said he would have it ready in a couple weeks. Yea, I went for a full TROMIX collection. Im waiting on a lower too. Tony, are you gonna run some more shirts? Mine are looking a little worn, especialy in the sholder area! I like the new logo on your site! Later, Ron

Tromix .50AE upper is one of my happy thoughts that will get me through basic. I'm curious though, how many .50AE rounds will fit in the 30rnd mag?

30rd mags hold 10, 20's hold 5, and 40's hold 14 rounds of 50AE.

I was thinking of a .308 cartridge that is fat like the WSM series, but was short enough to go in the AR15 magazine in a single stack, and retain the power of the .308 Nato. I understand that physics is not on my side.

The 308 Sabre is in prototype stages, I have the reamer, the dies are due tomorrow and Brouhaha has already seen the two first prototype cases. It fits in the AR-15 mag, and I am waiting on a "special" bolt for the upper - several folks are now starting to produce improved high strength bolts (there is a minute flaw in the Colt bolt) Performance of the 308 Sabre on "paper" (QuickLoad) 168 gr bullet at 2,400 fps from a 24" barrel - this is 400 fps shy of the .308 Win. The lighter bullets (110-140) should rival the 308 on the nose, but the heavier ones lose out due to the smaller powder volume. Magazine modification do not appear to be needed. Bob -
You be in da Vulle - I used to live on 2nd Street and walk to class, DPS had my car on the "evil" list - something about parking and permits ... nothing like playing "Frogger" while crossing Eastern Parkway to get to class. But on the brite side, it was walking/stumbling/crawling distance from the Downs. Anyway, the 308 Sabre I hope to get up and running within the next two months, the key will be the brass. Twist will be 1 in 10 as that should suffice for the projected velocities. As for a smaller caliber version, a company whose name I dare not say is coming out with just the ticket in that regard. They are also one of the outfits that make the better, stronger bolts and they may sell them (I am waiting on the one they said they would send to try). The other person working on these bolts is Scott Medesha, I assume he needs no introduction. Marty |
