Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Bushmaster's new CAR handguards

Just got a 16" Superlight Brl assembly. It came with a new (to me) type of handguard.

The handguard liners are black, they have staggered holes on the sides, but not on the top. So the liner holes dont line up with the handguard holes.

I cant tell for sure if the black liners are aluminum or plastic.

They look nice, the fit & finish is excellent, but they wont work with several of the products designed to mount on the handguards like; a Harris Bipod adaptor, GG&G D&D mount, or GG&G/AAA accessorie rail.

Howdy! What's the thickness of the barrel? The BM catalog says it is ".625 the whole length from chamber to muzzle" but that seems kinda wierd to me...
