Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Large pin Colt lower question

I have been told to stay away from the SP1, as it is a large hole on the lower reciever.  I have seen several different adaptors to mesh the large hole with the smaller holed current uppers.  

Why would this be a bad thing to do?  What am I missing?

Have A-1 upper w/lg hole; looking to buy Colt Sp-1 or A-1 lower complete, stripped or anywhere in between.  Anyone?
