This started off as a general JSOC thread but it's quickly become nothing more than talking about the Noveske Navy, so let's just dedicate it to that.

I was looking at this pic yesterday and at a Sig Tango6T and thought they don't look alike. The anodizing sure, but the scope in the picture looks closer to a 34mm tube and the ocular base of the scope looks closer to a Leupold MK6. Also it kind of looks like a white marking on the windage cap similar to the Leupold. The Sig Tango 6T doesn't have any logos on the caps. So I wonder if we're looking at a new unreleased product in testing from Leupold.

Tannodized ATACR most likely.

Hypothetically, if the cerakote starts to wear off from use or metal on metal scratches, can it be retouched to pristine again?

RSR has 11 of the 9in MLOK Noveske rails in stock, just a heads up.

Cerakote isn't really meant to be touched up in individual areas. It needs an aerosol/air gun to be applied correctly. I guess if you really wanted to you could "brush on" C series Cerakote to touch up, but it wouldn't be anywhere near uniform in application and could flake due to thickness of application. I always viewed Cerakote as just a more durable spray paint.

I'd imagine the actual Dev rifle as they are used/worn down will just be spray painted over; kind of like some of the Sr25s you'll see in the wild.

Yeah TinyCrumb was talking about that perhaps a more durable cerakote exists than is commercially available. Now there may be a clone correct cerakote? lol. Good thing I got a beater sbr.

There is a HIR Cerakote variant that is only sold to Leo/Mil. It performs/"hides" better under IR illumination. The spec sheet for both standard H series and HIR series is exactly the same. (When it comes to hardness/abrasion) You can find this info directly on Cerakote's website.
This is my speculation, but I'm going to say the prep/coating process is different than your run of the mill commercial bead blast/coat.

I don't know how to cerakote but the Noveske website it says on the Gen 3 upper that they do hard coat anodizing and cerakote.

Anyone think we are going to see some things pop up for Black Friday at Noveske? I'm hoping a batch of lightweight 300blk barrels or 5.56 hit the site soon.

I asked someone at Noveske about the 5.56 lightweight barrels, and he said those are a few months out.

I asked a few months back and was told they were concentrating on contracts but that they seem to be getting asked for them so they would offer them. Can’t wait.

Yeah, he said the barrel shop has the 10.5" LW barrel on their radar and are hoping to clear the backlog quicker, but most likely are still a few months out.

I bought one of the barrels with a headspaced bolt; is there anywhere to purchase the remaining Noveske parts to complete the BCG (firing pin, cam pin, carrier, etc)?

Nice! I wasn't sure I would like the BTAP as it doesn't fully enclose the helmet but the more I use it, the more it is growing on me. I love the size and with the way the straps are set up, I was able to fabercobble a full QD solution using ITW field repair buckles for attaching it to my plate carrier. The only thing I wish it had is a top grab handle but I'm sure I can whip something up given the daisy chain that runs across the top.
