I know they are closed for holidays but has all this pistol bs got them afraid to chop a barrel? The link was supposed to be under "thread barrel" I thought but the "button" seems dead Jim.
Adco barrel threading Maybe they just killed the links whilst they are closed for Christmas I hope. |
|
Looks like they changed the list of services they provide , nothing about p/w anymore :( i was gonna send them a colt 14.5 to do
|

I got an email reply back from ADCO. The link is down simply because they are closed for Christmas. Thank goodness.

From my personal experience and that of a friends that I witnessed first hand, I’m no fan of ADCO.
I only use http://www.dwilsonmfg.com/ now. Turnaround time, quality, and finished product are light years better then my experience with ADCO. |

Not the answer you're looking for, but go to John Thomas. I've never seen such a perfectionist.
He gets all my business now. |

Dwilson MFG is my go-to these days for anything I can't handle.

Here is link so you don't have to google John Thomas RAW and find out there is a gay porn star of the same name: Retro Arms Works

John Thomas built a couple 11.5 uppers for me an did a great job.

ADCO has eliminated most of their gunsmithing service for around six months now. "Discontinued because of health issues". If Steve (the owner) or his employee's are ill isn't specified. I have several projects backlogged because of their status. |

JT at Retro Arms or D. Wilson gets all of my AR work. ADCO was a subpar experience for me, at best.

This is why I love Steve and shamelessly rock an adco hoodie.... That and the mod 1 on it
|
|
ADCO has done a few different jobs(thread, P&W, barrel contour, assemble/disassemble) for me over the years. Never an issue & no complaints...
|
|
ADCO's always done right by me. Superb thread and custom jobs and fair pricing.
|
|
Everything they have done for me has been absolutely perfect and sent back MUCH faster than I ever imagined.
I thoroughly read their web site and followed directions. I even ziploc bagged my parts, zip tied them to the respective uppers with copies of the work orders and notes about what i wanted done. I made sure the packages were properly and securely taped up. I would go right back to ADCO without hesitation. |
|
Had ADCO assemble and p&w an upper a few months ago. My experience was great work and customer service (even emailing me back on a Sunday).
|
|
multiple customers have sent multiple firearms to them for threading and it was quick and with no issues.
The only thing that raised a stink about it was that their work is so precise and well done that I have had customers swear the barrel isn't threaded and then they start to twist it and it starts coming out and then I hear the 'ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ". In the end... I usually send to Tornado tech or ADCO..... nobody else for customers. |
|
Adco is really good but John Thomas is incredible and his turn around is fast

In most cases, people who come to public forums to trash companies don't have the balls to bring up the issue directly with the company. They just live with what they got then try to bash when they find the opportunity.

I've had 3 issues that I can remember with Adco over the years so I've moved on.
1. Bought a specific muzzle device from them and sent an upper to be assembled for work with said muzzle device. Upper came back with wrong muzzle device. They did refund me the muzzle device cost. 2. Sent an upper in to be assembled and a few weeks went by where I didn't hear anything. Followed up and they were able to track down my parts. Was told no instructions were included (they were) and job was referenced on box. I don't appreciate being told I didn't do something as a customer when I did. 3. Sent a barrel in for a cut and thread. Barrel was chopped to the incorrect length so I had to send it back. I asked about return shipping and my refund was a $20 bill casually thrown in the box with no mention of that being my method of refund. I had tossed the box because I wasn't expecting cash to be in the box. Maybe these aren't legitimate issues in the eyes of others or I am "soft" but I don't like it when business is made more difficult than it should be. Their work has always been good, I just don't care to deal with the headaches that have come with it. |

I sent ADCO a FSB to be shaved and they charged me like $25 or $30 for return shipping on a FSB. Hard pass from here on out.
Found the email. Return Shipping to me was $27.43 for a FSB |

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: ADCO was a subpar experience for me, at best. What was the problem, and when did it happen? Order number? Did you reach out to me at the time? ADCO has always had a stellar reputation. And for good reason; they do quality work and are reasonable with their prices. They have chopped a bunch of barrel's for me and those barrels were completed earlier than quoted, and they looked like they rolled off a factory line. Really fine work. Merry Christmas. |

Return Shipping to me was $27.43 for a FSB View Quote You never mentioned that to me. Please send me your order number. Also what did you send? Just an FSB would ship back in a $8 flat rate USPS box, and I'd add $2 for insurance. A complete upper would be closer to $27.00. I may have just charged you wrong or forget to change from the last order shipped. If it wasn't too long ago I should still be able to bring up the shipping info. Refunding an overcharge on shipping is pretty simple. |

ADCO has cut/threaded many uppers for me. I never had an issues and their turnaround time was good.

Another perfectly satisfied, long time ADCO customer, including a couple of recent upper builds.

I had ADCO cut and thread a barrel, all went as expected.
I have also used this member, had him do a 336 and a M44 with the receivers attached. https://www.ar15.com/forums/equipment-exchange/Barrel-Threading-sale-50-PTR-91-Aug-Scar-Sig-MPX-Beretta-21A-FAL-PAPM92-Pin-and-Welds/143-1029861/&page=67&anc=5813188#i5813188 |

ADCO cut down a FSB for me, looks great even with their disclaimer The turn around was also faster than USPS could update tracking since I got it back before they showed it delivered to ADCO

I should send my 16” colt barrel to ADCO.
Hey ADCO, what kind of turnaround time am I looking at if I send you a barrel after the new year to get chopped to 14.5” and drilled for pin? |

Adco has done work for me in the past. Top notch. Good guys to deal with.
