I've been recommended to look into complete uppers from these vendors. Anyone have experience with sons of liberty and andro?

Over the years I've bought 4 uppers (and 2 lowers) from BCM and they are good to go. I've also bought 5 uppers (and 3 lowers) from Andro and they are good to go. Deal with confidence with both of them. No experience with sons of liberty.

This exactly. I have many BCM products they are all good quality. Andro corp has excellent stuff and their CS is second to none in my limited experience dealing with them. I've never bought anything from Sons of Liberty.

BCM would be my first choice of the group.  FIL was building his own rifle and wanted a complete upper and was looking at all kinds of brands and he asked me which one.  I told him BCM Spikes or Daniel Defense.  He liked the BCM in the end.

My 10.5 upper from Andro has been top notch. I also recently ordered an 18" barrel for an SPR build I'm working on from Andro. Both orders shipped lightning quick. Check their industry forum here for a discount code.

If you're in the San Antonio area, that's probably the reason Sons of Liberty was recommended.

BCM should be the first choice.

Any specific uppers? I'm just trying to look for a good middy upper from BCM or andro?

I have no experience other than with Sons of Liberty. I had them build a complete rifle for me back in October that I am extremely satisfied with. Good people, excellent product. I was able to hang out in their shop while they built it for me.

BCM uppers have been a 16" mid length with standard FSB. Had this one the longest, bought probably 10 years ago, been through classes, thousands of rounds. I've bought two 11.5s and a 14.5 (now cut to 10.3), which are also all terrific.

Andro uppers have been .22lr upper, 9mm upper, couple 10.5s, and one 16" mid length. They are also all terrific, great fit and finish (and function). I've dealt directly with Jason each time and I've got to say their customer service is second to none.

I have a sons of liberty 14.5 pinned upper.  quality seems great overall.  Delivery was a little slow, but I did ask for some custom features.  Tax Stamp came back so I will finally have suppressor mounted for shooting on thurs. After handling bcm and sons I feel them to be pretty equal.

Sir I believe you emailed me on choosing an upper from your site. I am interested in looking into one once I get back to the U.S

OP, I've read multiple threads of yours that start out with brand X vs brand Y. There is no miracle rifle. Just get a basic, quality, rifle, like a Colt 6920, and be done with it. Learn the platform, shoot the snot out of it, take a carbine course, then figure out what you "need." At least if you get something like a Colt 6920, you'll be able to sell it or part it out and recoup most of your investment...

A good read for you...

SOLGW has come highly recommended by vetted people on P&S.  I think they're the next BCM in terms of high quality.

That's kind of how I think. They remind me of.BCM circa 2003

I have lots of BCM. Just bought a SofL.  Haven't shot it yet but the parts seems to be adequate.

I've had.the.AndroCorps Mk18 clone upper.  The rail was a little heavy but I only sold it because I got a DD Mk18 upper as a trade.   Mechanically it was sound.
