Noticed that PSA has finally made their KS-47 available. Looks pretty good, but the $1000.00 price tag is a little high IMHO. I watched a video of one of PSA'S reps talking about it and he seemed to imply that the KS lower would fit any other non-psa 7.62 x39 upper. Is that true? If so, it seems that unless the stripped KS lower is very expensive, you might be able to join it to a standard milspec upper for 200 or 300 bucks cheaper. Looking really hard at this

Thought he said it was the other way around? The upper will work on a standard AR combined with a 7.62x39 magazine that fits a standard AR lower.

This is correct, their lower requires their upper.

The AK mag is approximately .120 wider than an AR mag. The standard upper is not wide enough to modify to accept it. My concern would be what style bolt are they using. 5.56 or 308. Craig

I know they are using the 5.56 BCG. CMMG's Mutant uses the .308 BCG. That is a concern to me as well, but I actually haven't heard a lot of stories of bolt failures in the smaller BCG. I'm sure they are out there. If I went the PSA route (for 1000.00 I won't), I'd have an extra bolt just in case ;)

This video says that you can put any 7.62x39 AR upper with the KS-47 lower. At .:40 in the video
