Every once in a while I like to change up my rifle rather than buying a new one.

Right now it's a basic 16" carbine with a DD RIS II FSP rail, which I don't mine, but also don't really need
As I don't use really any of its rail space, making my rifle (in my opinion) heavier and bulkier for no real reason.

I'm thinking about selling the rail and using the funds to buy just a drop in KAC RAS and maybe some kind of Light.
I could do this without spending anything due to the money from the rail. And I. Feel as If it would "fit me" better as I have a
Similar set up on a 10.5 pistol.

(What it is now, sorry for shitty picture)

(What I want it to be, shout out to whoever owns this rifle??)

So Am I stupid to be doing this? Taking off a $400 dollar rail, just to use an $100 one?

Am I really going to see any physical difference?

No, its not stupid if its what you want. Might be a little bit lighter.

DD RIS II Cutout: 17.1oz
KAC RAS carbine: 11.6oz
Centurion C4 7": 8.7oz
DD Light III 7": 8.3oz

Go with whatever rail makes you happy OP. The RAS is heavy for what it is though. Many lighter options if weight reduction is the goal.
