I think the KAC may be my favorite scope mount. Finally got around to switching the NX8 into the taupe mount. If KAC would come out with a similar Mount with QD, I’d be all over it.

I had an nx8 in a 1.54 originally. I took a risk and put it in a 1.93-that height changed my life with the nx8. I loved it before but now.... mannnnnnn....

For those of you who have used both the NX8 and the Razor Gen III, if weight was not an issue, which scope would you choose? Just in terms of optical clarity, eye box, reticle, brightness, turrets, FOV, is one a clear winner over the other?

View Quote I’ve never used an NX8 but agree the razor recticle is hard to pick up at 1x without illumination. The eyebox, fov, clarity and brightness is really good. I like the turrets also good audible clicks but capped. For me the weight is the only downside. |

Here's the absolute truth as to why the nx8 is better...
I shot with the gen 3 and didn't buy one |

NX8 is now on the way. Just need to find a badger mount in stock now.

There is a slight noticeable difference in glass clarity with the K16i at distances beyond 600m, which I don't think a LPVO is designed for anything beyond that but nonetheless I could tell a difference. I dont love the NX8 for any other reason then the balance of weight, clarity (edge to edge), magnification, price, and durability...oh and the dot brightness on the NX8 in full bright sun is stellar.....I'm sure someone out there can find some niche category that the K16i beats the NX8 in but I'm talking all categories cumulative the NX8 is hands down the best out there. Period. I've spent a stupid amount of money on optics AND range time to thoroughly test these, beyond flat range and I've bought several of the NX8 for those reasons. |

All that said, I sold my Kahles in favor for an NX8. If you can source the capped elevation C599 version even better. So I’m gonna ditch my 12” Larue barrel in favor of a lighter 11.3-12.5. What do y’all recommend? Thinking criterion core at the moment.

While the reticle is easier to pick up without illumination, the simplistic design sucks for longer range shooting. The Vortex Razor 1-10x reticles are MUCH BETTER for holding off elevation and/or windage (without dialing the turrets). With the NX8, you either need to dial for windage or elevation. Otherwise your trying to hold on an empty space where the reticle lines should line up or cross. The Christmas tree reticle on the Razor allows for precise elevation and/or windage holds. So while I have a really like my NX8... I'm lusting after the Vortex Razor 1-10x. BTW... I think that the NX8 would be about PERFECT... if it had something like the ACSS Mil Reticle! |

Updated the 277 Wolverine Mini. Geissele HSNM trigger that I walked in to, and a less-than-Gucci Magpul bipod that I immediately stuck in the mill and cut for angled stop. Considering updating the optic to something with a little more magnification, we'll see. I really like the Griffin MIL reticle, so there's a decision to be made. |

Are ELCANs allowed? I have another 12.5 build I need to finish that I’m thinking about picking up either a NX8 or Razor 1-6 for.

Finally caught up on this thread. Amazing builds guys.
For those shooting 300 BO, anyone tried the Speer 150 blackout specific bullet yet? On 300blktalk. com forum, they're raving about it. I've got 2 rifles to play with- 12.5 SBR and 14.7 pinned to try at distance. Happy New Year MR family!!! Sorry, phone no post photos today, its mad at me. |
