Well, I'm build a trunk gun and need some in put on a barrel here are two that I have found in the links. What I'm looking for in a barrel is chrome lined 14.5 or 16 (preferred) inch chambered in 556 with 1/8 twist or 1/7 twist. GM does have some 1/8 and 1/7 twist if kick in another 50.00. is there any good or bad about the barrels I listed or is there another option to go with. Both barrels are around 100.00 but this will be a beater rifle. I do plan on getting a good BCG spikes, BCM, Rainier Arms, etc..  Thank you for your input. Parts that I have now are;

Spikes blem lower
Joe bob blem upper
B5 stock
PSA mil spec buffer tube
PSA MagPul  LPK

Why not just get a PSA Premium blem upper.  They usually run for around 250$ toss a good auto BCG and charging handle of your choice and you have a damn good upper......they use FN barrels.

I went with a PSA CHF 16 inch for this application

I could do that but I have theses parts sitting in the safe not being used. So, instead of selling them I wanted to use them.

Only thing I would suggest do different is do a 14.5 barrel with a pinned FH it makes getting in and out slightly easier.

I would but I don't want to pin the hider. So is there any good or bad on the barrels I listed.

I like the idea of a POS AK pistol with brace as a truck gun instead. Falls under the same restrictions as your CCW.

Haha, I know the feeling.  Having a Sig brace sitting around after my SBR stamp came in caused me to build the above 9mm AR.  I don't like having left over parts as they end up costing a lot more money when I turn it into a complete rifle.

I would not be comfortable storing that gun in my trunk.  Way too valuable.

Well by truck gun, I mean when I'm traveling or riding around on the ranch.  I don't store guns in my truck.

Same here it's not going to be in a trunk but it will be a beater shooting cheap ammo all the time and if it falls over no big deal. I have an SBR for the fun stuff and good ammo.
