Time has come to gather my small AR parts and put them into a traveling storage compartment container (worm box). I plan on buying a large box / boxes with individual storage compartments no larger than 1-1/2" x 2".

Speaking in terms of "small" parts (no stocks, barrels, bolt assemblies) like springs, pins, screws........... How many 1-1/2" x 2" compartments would be needed in order to give each part it's own compartment (no intermingling)?

Mobil organizing suggestions?

Thanks,

Hobo

WOA has a sale going on for a kit they sell with a bunch of pre-packaged lower parts.  since you're mostly worried about the small parts I'd skip storing upper parts.  I haven't heard of small parts in an upper going bad (maybe have a few crush washers around if you change muzzle devices a lot).

I just took my ar all the way apart and labeled every spring and detent to compile a list but that works I guess.

I didn't really do that. Yeah your overthinking it I would keep 1 or 2 extra lpks, a spare bcg, and maybe a few extra takedown and pivot pin detents and springs just in case.

That is a nice package. I have about the same number of parts all loose in a shoe box.

Thanks,

Hobo
