I normally see bolts that are MPI have the MP markings on the side of the bolt. I just got a new bolt from Red X Arms, and although they state that all their bolts are MPI, it doesn't have the MP markings. I've heard of the MPI being more of "batch" testing, and I'm not sure if I'm skeptical of that or not. Is this common, and I'm assuming there is no way to confirm this?

No, some are not.  I bought one from 4 Guys Guns that is MPI/HPT, and it's not marked at all.

i really don't think mpi means much without the hp testing.

it's a 9310 bolt so it isn't milspec.  just shoot the shit out of it.

What does that have to do with being MPI/HPT?

look at the redx site they claim the bolt is tested to milspec.   It isn't.
On the mpi/hp testing i don't think mpi is worth much without the high pressure test.  It's like getting your colon scanned without drinking the barium.
