I'm thinking the Magpul RVG, or the shorty TAPCO. MFT seems similar. Not looking for a QD model. The TAPCO has the advantage of a little storage space. Not for a HD weapon, so I don't need an Ubergrip.

I like my RVG. The only thing it's missin is a storage plug.

GG&G SFG-1 short vertical grip from PKFirearms.com

I have a GG&G SFG-1 Short Vertical Grip (web address below) it's probably not the lightest, non QD, no storage, 3 3/16 inches long, 2.8 oz, it's just for my range toy AR so I don't care for a storage compartment, it mounts like a Knight's Armament VFG which you screw the bottom cap to lock it.

Any short synthetic VFG should be the lighter or you could cut a full size one if you're handy, take a look also at Tango Down Stubby vertical grip (non QD model) it have storage if you like that feature, if you prefer the lightest just pick the lightest brand.

I don't know for sure but I'd imagine that the MOE RVG is either the lightest or one of the lightest vfgs.

I have a GG&G unit and I like it, but I still want something lighter for a lightweight carbine.

I would guess a Tapco Intrafuse shorty would probably be close.

I have a Magpul MVG and a TangoDown stubby(not quick detach) handy.

Both weigh 2.8oz.

Thanks. Would not have guessed that the TD would weigh the same as the Magpul, which seems pretty minimalist to me.
Hmmm. May have to take a saw to one of my fullsize TD's.
