A local gun store has one but they are not listed on Colt's web page.  What is this version?  Any idea why Colt dropped them?

It's the Sportster of Harley Davidson. Run from it and get the real thing.

There is a pretty informative thread in the Colt Forum on this cabine.  The consensus is avoid it.

What he means is that the 6900 was subbed out by Colt.  Presumably some of the components were produced and/or assembled by a company other than Colt.  Colt just put their name on it.

There is a lot of internet speculation regarding the 6900, but apparently it is no longer being produced, and frankly I would go in a different direction.

It doesn't have a forward assist and no ejection port cover. For that reason alone my gut told me to avoid it.

The Colt model LE6900 is not on the Colt's web page but you could find it on the downloadable Colt 2013 catalog, look at page 39 (lower right corner of the page), there's no picture but the description is shown there.

Also on the downloadable Colt MSRP price list that model is listed there.
