Decided to try out a VLTOR stock and Tangodown grip. Stuck on what to do about the optic. Kind of like the Aimpoint, but also like the Exps3-0 (either black like the PJ pictures, or tan for a 1.5/PR), or even an Aimpoint T1... Any suggestions?

Agreed. They're not the most sophisticated, but they work well. Here’s a photo from my Iraq tour. Mine on the right.

I'm going to assume the answer is yes to lowering the PEQ, I believe thats why it has two different heights. You're also right on it not mattering with the riser, but he may switch optics. |

It is "upside down." The rail has two versions a low and a high. High is standard AR height, Low drops the PEQ a little more. It's unnoticeable in your hand on either setting. I prefer a lower PEQ as it also puts it closer to the bore. I'd like to get the direct low profile PEQ mount to make it even lower, but I have other things that are in order.

Even though I just said I was done, I kind of want to add a couple minor things. I apologize if it has been answered, but I know the PRI gas buster is good for block 2, but is it still kosher for a 1.5? If so, what latch is recommended? Same for CQD sling mounts. 1.5 acceptable?
Currently using a bcm mod4 charging handle and IWC qd sling mounts. Didn’t want to use the colt side swivel as I like my front sling attachment towards the rear. These two items work, but want more of a “correct” replacement. |

Heard they were front heavy. @imdBman I bought that upper in 2012 and after searching for a n type colt stock and giving up on the ras rail and going with a omega 7" in 2019 i just left her like that well balanced until i put the AAC 762sd on it  Having a lil fun with one of my tax stamp i was painting and siad fk it and fired a few rounds between painting the fence post |

I need to stay off this site lol. CQD mounts installed and finally got my Colt lower after searching for over a year. Swapped out the poverty pony for another horse. Now i can show off the other side.
