I just installed some KNS pins on a RRA lower and they stick out pretty good. I end up with one bar against the receiver and the other hovering out a bit. I thought maybe my receiver was out of spec, but I threw in some regular pins and they all fit flush.

Just push in on the side where the pins stick out just enough to center them in the lower receiver. I always thought the reason for this is for a rag to get in between the pins and the receiver during cleaning.
