I am wanting to purchase a le6920, but I was wanting to know what kind of accuracy I can expect out of the box using high powered scope. I am thinking maybe 2 moa is maximum. The best I can get from my Colt H Bar is consistant 1.5 moa

Your expectation is reasonable.

I you want the most accuracy then you should look at the 6940. It mos def makes a difference with the free float and mono upper. Mine is crazy good. I love it.

Depends on the quality of ammo. That in itself is a bigger factor then what model/brand AR you have.

Very true. I have a David Tubb reloading video (Sierra High Power Rifle Reloading) and every tool he recomends to load concentric ammo. If you are an accuracy freak, you need this video.

The best I have shot with my 6920 is 1 moa with a 4x trijicon acog and black hills mk262 ammo.  That is plenty accurate for my use.

It depends on ammo, conditions, optics and shooter skill level so it varies all the time, the carbine is not a precision rig but it should be capable to get 2 MOA and less with precision loads.

I'm including an older thread by member Molon which a Colt lightweight 16" barrel was tested at 100 yd with 10 shot groups using match hand loads, the barrel profile of the lightweight and the 6920's M4 government profile barrel are the same under the handguards so their results are going to be similar, his best group was 0.96" and worst was 2.24".

I've got two 6920 carbines, a newer LE6920 I bought early this year and an older SP6920 (Sporter marked) I bought last year, both at 100 yd using Hornady TAP 75 grain my best group are 1.2" the worst are under 2 MOA.

I'm shooting from a concrete bench with a rifle rest placed at the rear end of my handguards close to the barrel nut and a 12X scope.

So far I've tried xm855, xm193 and tula 55gr.in my 6920. At 75 yrds with irons and a cardboard box as
a rest from the hood of the jeep the xm855  by far gave the tightest groups. Followed by tula then
the xm193. So you want to test as many as you can. Thats part of the fun. Also I found that different
lots of tula had more than expected change of POI so keep your lots separate and don't assume they will be the same.

Seriously, the 6920 will shoot as good as you can at 100 yds. If more accuracy is desired, I'd move to a good bolt rifle instead of an AR.

A lot. Its better than my match target 6601 hbar 20". Ive got 6 ars now, and its by far the best. However, for offhand shooting you likely wont shoot it well enough to matter between a 6920/40. If you are going to sandbag it etc, and just are concerned with getting the most... You have no choice. Youll be freefloating your 6920 or getting a 6940.

A free float hand guard will improve your groups with quality ammo or good hand loads.  There is an endless variety of free float tubes available.  I'd get the 6920 and then find the tube that fits best to you.  Off a bench you can expect to get better than 1 inch groups at 100 meters with a free floated 6920 with the right ammo.

My Colt 6920 at 100 yds from the bench using a 2MOA Aimport Comp M4 with 3X Magnifier with bipod, I will get;

• 1.5" consistently using American Eagle 50gr JHP
  1.5" - 2" using 55gr XM193
  2.5" - 2.75" using 62gr M855 Green Tip

American Eagle 50gr JHP is consistenly the most accurate with all my 5.56 rifles (Various COLT AR15s, SCAR16, SIG 556 10" barrel SBR, and SIG M400)

My SCAR with a 4X32 ACOG will shoot 1/4" groups all day long with that load. Its a very accurate and inexpensive load!

Please prove said 1/4" groups with pictures....

Shooting sub 2 MOA with anything other than match ammo is nearly impossible. Shooting sub MOA with match ammo and a gas gun is tough.  Shooting sub 1/2 MOA is the realm of bench rest shooters.

I shot 1.5 MOA with my new 6920 with irons the other day.  The rifle is more accurate than the shooter.
