The Rainier Arms Select barrels are a very good value for their price...

Simply lowest price, DPMS Mk12, mixed reviews, many positive. Have one, no rounds thru it yet though.

They may be willing to tell you if you ask them...but a lot of places don't tell who they get parts from.

Either way they are a stand up company and their barrel does come with a sub MOA guarantee with match ammo so it's hard to go wrong there.

I've got the DPMS and it's very accurate.

I mounted the FSB on it, and it cost me under $180 total.

Crappy pic.

That's nice.

I like guarantees. I think with that knowledge I would've ponied up the difference.

I have the DPMS MK12 barrel and it's very accurate.  I bought it back when it was $125 for the money it's a great barrel.  I see now that it's $155.  Still pretty good price.
Through Brownells, use code DSR for free shipping.

I originally wanted the Raineir Match barrel, but it went out of stock and I wanted to finish the build.  Had the Rainier been in stock, I would have gone with that.

Don't know for sure, but unlikely. BHW barrels are 3 groove rifled, and RA select are five groove (and I believe hammer forged).

Are these FN barrels good? Does anybody know how the accuracy is on these? What would these barrels compare to?
I'm gonna buy one to match a FN A2 receiver.

PK Firearms also has some 18" FN barrels.

I went with a BHW from surplus ammo. $230 with a stripped upper included.

I don't have a scope or mount yet, so I don't have personal accuracy numbers.

Lothar Walther, Noveske get my vote.  Rock River uses Wilson barrels they are good to go also and rather low on the price scale.

Yes, the Rainier Select series are according to a post on BHW's forum.

http://www.blackholeweaponry.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=testing&thread=551&page=1

Also interesting to note that they're using a Wylde/5.56 chamber, except for the Rainier Select which are 5.56 NATO.

I have one of the BHW 18" 3P rifled barrels (I think the Select are 5P) and I'm getting excellent velocity out of it.  3305 fps with LC M193.

I see the Surplus Arms has their sale on again...BHW barrel and free stripped upper for $229

I went with the bhw barrel, and I will never do it again. I took it out last weekend and was getting groups that were more like shotgun patterns. I've also heard they have a reputation for being like this.

I have a BHW and it goes sub MOA without working hard to get a load together for it.  So far, so good.  I think I'm going to try one of the Rainer's for another build.

Hoover..... Keep shooting that barrel.  Mine grouped horribly for the first 50 rounds.  I was extremely concerned.  Sometime around 50 rounds it tightened up and started shooting better.  By the hundredth round it was nearing MOA and by 150 it was sub.
