Hey hey,

I just wanted to say thank you to ar15.com and to the members. I was completely new to the AR-15 platform and this site and the contributions of the members has been and excellent source of information and has really helped me in learn a lot. I appreciate you all for sharing your knowledge and experience.

Well, it turns out that I am hooked. I have been shooting a lot and have even gotten the wife out to the range a couple of times. I was a bit surprised of how much fun that she had.

I hope posting the pics works .

Modified Smith & Wesson M&P 15:

First build, a mid range SPR-ish:

Colt LE9620 (received it today), original:

Colt LE6920, MOD 1:

MOD 2: After I test it at the range, I will add a Larue 9.0 hand guard, gas block, front sight, Aimpoint T-1(maybe) and Smith Vortex flash hider.

Thanks again,

Robert

Thanks. I guess that five years without a post is a bit odd.

I have just been trying to learn what I can and feel that I am at the point that I can (semi-intelligently) add to the conversation.

Okay, how many of those postless years were Team Member years? I gotta know.

Awesome first post, by the way.

Zero. I became a team member yesterday. I owed it to the site and should have done it sooner. I have been actively using the site the last two years.

I'm impressed... Good for you..... You actually used the site and read everything and used that knowledge instead of just posting the same  "Aimpoint vs EOTech" question over and over again...

Your post should be mandatory reading for all new posters......Well done.

This is probably the most win first post ever. Nice rifles.

BTW, how is cheek weld with the irons using the RISR?

Some people just talk about stuff while others just do it.

Very Nice OP!

The RISR is perfect for mounts that place the iron sights in the lower third of the optic.

For iron sights and absolute co-witness, the RISR is a little high. You can still use the irons but it is not very comfortable. At least it isn’t for me.
