A quick report of my trip to the range yesterday.  Finally got to shoot the two PSA uppers I got a while back.  Long day at the range, lot of bullets fired, unfortunately, I was completely engrossed in shooting and did not take any pictures.

Here's a quick look at the PSA uppers as completed.

Sighted both in at 50 yards.  They both required a bit of left windage, but within specs.

Put 300 rds through each upper (including zero).  Targets were 6" Shoot-n-C @50yds, irons only, combination standing unsupported and standing over barricade (elbow support).  Course of fire was 3-30rd magazines at each target with a rate of fire of about 60spm (i.e., shoot, recover sight picture from muzzle rise, repeat).  Ammo used for each upper consisted of 210rds of AE XM193 (including zero) and 90rds LC M855.  Each upper did well, with only a few fliers not on the targets, which was probably from not waiting on my sights to settle before firing again.  Each 90 shot group was a little less than 6" out of each upper.  I had no FTF or FTE with either upper.  Magazines used were DSG Arms aluminum with Magpul followers and USGI aluminum with light green followers.  Eject pattern for the 16" upper was between 2:30 and 3:00 and for the 14.5" it was between 3:00 and 4:00.

The 14.5" is for my oldest son, who's Security Forces in the Air Force.  The 16" is for my 8 year old son to grow into (he's been shooting a Crickett .22LR bolt action since he was 5).  He shot his new carbine a few times, standing unsupported and told me it was too heavy and it made it too hard to hit the target.  Guess I'll have to look into getting him a bi-pod and have him shoot from the bench or prone until he gets a little bigger.  Spent the rest of the day putting 120rds of LC M855 through each of my carbines and watching my daughter shoot 100rds of Federal bulk 55gr .223 from hers.

I'll update later, after I get to the range again and shoot them for accuracy (from the bench with sandbags).  I'll also follow up with my oldest boy's experience with his, as he intends to use his for 3-gun competition.

Overall, I was very pleased with the performance of each of these PSA uppers and I think my boys will get much satisfaction out of them over the years.

Two new additions to the family.

Now all I have to do is build one for my wife, one for my youngest son and one in 7.62x51 or 6.8 SPC II, then I'll be done...errrr... maybe.

So if the pink one is not your wife's, does it belong to you?

I've got one each of their 14.5 ", 16", and most recently, their 20 incher. They all built into nice weapons. I can't say enough good stuff about them; they all are terrific shooters.
