Question for everyone, I have a block 2 upper I'm just buttoning up that needs a optic, would like to do a eotech exps3 series. Were both the exps3-0 and the exps3-2 issued/purchased or just the 3-0? Thanks in advance

I’m looking for a different look and have been kicking the idea of a Leupold MK4 1.5x5, have these ever been used or seen in the wild? I’m thinking about using a caper of extra ARMS #22 rings, or even a LaRue mount? Thoughts?

The stuff on the scope…is that camo Coban tape?  (Coban is the stuff they use after doing a blood draw; it’s self-adhesive and elastic, but also “crepe-like”.  Hey, I’m a rehab therapist, so I use that stuff on the job.  Just not in camo.)

I've really enjoyed shooting and configuring this socom barrel block II. They seem to be a dime a dozen like the mk18, but there is a reason for that.

Is the milspec bolt catch the only one that's technically CC (no block 2's seen with the G Maritime bolt catch or anything)?

Is the B5 stock color here their FDE or their coyote?  I know the milspec SOPMOD stock is not the same as the enhanced SOPMOD but just wondering...

How do you like the KAC riser?

That's a PRI actually, and it's good. I like that it allows a little rise but mostly I like that it gets the elcan one slot further back where typically it would impact the rear iron.

I see a lot of mismatched colors between the lower and upper, specifically a lot of tan fore ends and uppers and black lowers and stocks and grips. Is there an actual reason for that or just a really big fluke?

This.

Very few rifles blow up. Many get worn out. In my time as a contract armorer, i replaced many barrels and bolts, a few upper receivers, a bunch of railed handguards, and we had a literal box full of worn out fire control group parts(triggers, hammers, discos, etc.).

The clone threads kind of make me chuckle a little as so many contract parts get used to re-build rifles, that it really isn't worth the lengths that some people go to in order to build their "perfect" clone.

The shit i saw in Afghanistan made me not give two shits about what i put in my rifles.  Ever seen a Marine raider tapco-fuck a MK18 Mod 1?  I have. It means nothing.

The only rifles i ever saw make it through a heavy use deployment without at least a barrel change were foreign issues (most notably Norwegian and french) HK416's.  (Camp Marmal, Mazar-I-Sharif, 2016).

Make of that what you will.

I now have an FSB and non-FSB rail coming in from Battlehawk armory.

.and I snagged a complete non-FSB DD upper from the EE yesterday.

So apparently I'm planning on changing my block 1.5ish FN into a FSB Block2. And swapping uppers on a Colt to put the DD upper onand starting a new non-FSB build.

And I also have a Surefire RC2 in jail, so I'm accidentally VERY Block2 inspired these days

I'm not going to be clone correct like all the beautiful work you guys are doing, but I'd call it clone adjacent. Unsure on if I'll post pics because of it as I don't want to clutter a clone thread, but I just can't seem to shake the many positive attributes of this series of rifles.

@HD2006

Beautiful rifles. Do you know what model ARD fits on the Ecos. I picked an Ecos up the other day and am looking for the appropriate ard.

Also, sent a new stripped socom to John Thomas for a p&w the other day

Here’s a closer picture of the markings.  It came with the ECOS when I purchased it.  I did buy it used so I’m not sure if it was originally included.

How do you like the 16" barrel? I can't decide if I want to throw my RIS II on an OEM2 right now and get it cut/threaded/PW later or if I'm wanting to track down a SOCOM barrel now.

My ECOS was also used and didn't come with anything, so I can't say if they're the same or not.
