So, how good/bad/ugly are the DPMS 14.5inch barrels?  Saw some at RGuns....

looking to swap a 16inch on one of my ARs out to a 14.5+perm fixed muzzle device.

Rifle is just a regular shooter, and it doesnt matter if its chrome lined or not to me.  Just want to make sure the DPMS bbls arnet problematic, and will eat .223 and 5.56 without issue.

thnx guys

ETA: ––––whats an alternate source, worst case, of a 14.5 bbl thats around the same price point?

DPMS 5.56 spec barrels aren't always 5.56 chamber spec. Other than that they should shoot ok as long as you don't plan on using a can.

Not sure on the loose barrels. I have a DPMS M4 upper that was a 16". I had a local guy cut it to 14.5" for me. It eats everything fine.

PK firearms has 14.5 Bushmaster chromelined barrel only/phantom 5C1 for $250 then you can use your delta assy, handguards and gas tube from current barrel and get a better than DPMS barrel for $60 more.

yeah, thing is though, the FH's are already perm attached right?

I need a bbl or assembly with a removable muzzle device, so I can toss and fix a muzzlebrake on there to be AWB compliant.  State law crap I know I know....

A buddy of mine had a really crappy DPMS barrel... 10.5 inch, the hole in the end was so off center, I was worried the bullet was going to hit the A2 flash hider.

DSA has some barrels in that price point... I'd get one of theirs before I got DPMS.
