I've noticed that my newest rifle (BCM LWT 16" upper assembly, Spikes Chrome BCG & Buffer) seems to eject the brass a little more violently than my other rifle (Stealth 16", Larue BCG & 9mm buffer). it dents the case a little vs. not denting the brass at all. It's not really a problem, and could be the design of the brass deflector or the ejector spring.



anyway, I started wondering how close the weight of the buffers I have are to what they are supposed to weigh.

the first CAR buffer is from AIM and the weights don't move. the 2nd is from a tapco commercial stock kit and the weights do move.

What gas length is your BCM?

both rifles are mid length.

After seeing Andrew's (87GN) videos of bolt bounce, I've gone away from using 9mm buffers in my carbines.  I have started using the ST-T2 buffer and in one with a carbine gas tube, the H2 buffer.

What is the ejection pattern for your two carbines?

the stealth ejects between 4-5 o'clock.



not sure about the bcm. it's only been to the indoor range and the brass just bounce off the stall wall.



I've seen the videos. I don't know if the 9mm buffer bounces in my rifle or not. I doubt my buffer spring and/or gas system is identical.

Before I put the H2 buffer in my wife's M4gery, it would eject at around 2 o'clock or so.  Now, it ejects around 3:00 to 3:30.

A 4 to 5 o'clock ejection pattern might be because of your 9mm buffer.  Ejection of an A2/A4/M4 upper should be around 3 to 4 o'clock.

Still, if it works and you like it.....

My fun right now is figuring our buffer/springs for suppressors.
