Thought some of you DIY gunsmiths might be interested in this new camo dipping kit that you can do on your gun parts. http://www.camodipkit.com - same process as the manufacturers, just in a smaller at-home kit....

Very interesting..  Wonder how much you can get done with one kit.

It said 1 meter of film.  I don't think that would go far enough to do more than a stock and maybe a forearm.

But, for 99 bucks for the kit, you can buy a shitload of krylon.

if you're going to plug for a company, at least do it in the correct forum.

That is neat but durakote sure is a hell of a lot cheaper and far less waste!

Now, make one with neked womenz and I would have to do it

I saw the DIY kits a few days ago.  I'm building a new dedicated .22 and was looking for something new, finish wise, so I ordered a kit yesterday.
One meter of film is actually quite a bit.  It's 18 or 19 inches wide and just over 6 feet long.  If I don't mess up, I think I'll have enough for a couple of rifles.
I found one place that will sell film for $10/square meter but it's a 5 meter minimum.  Another place on Ebay sells it for $50 for a piece 35.5"x15'.  Unfortunately, the activator is $100+ a gallon.  I wish I knew what they're using to activate it.  You could probably find it much cheaper.
I ordered the Predator Brown Deception.  I really wanted multicam, but the places that advertise it are finishers and don't sell supplies.
Everything except the finish kit should be here for next weekend.  Hopefully in a few weeks I'll post a pic.

What I would give to be able to make my own pattern with this type of kit.
A DeWalt based pattern comes to mind...
