I believe Spike lowers have low shelfs which will accommodate a RDIAS, hence the third marking.

I have to disagree. With a low self, a registered drop in automatic sear (RDIAS) and a full auto (M-16) fire control group installed the three position selector markings would hardly be for "looks" alone. True several companies produce RDIAS compliant lowers. |

Just for the looks. They look cool with the mark. LEO's could get a select fire, or if you have a drop in auto sear, then you can put a full auto parts kit in it, and the marking would be useful.

Nowhere in my initial post did I use the phrase "looks alone." |

Hmmmmmm? I'm not so sure I said you used the phrase "looks alone". I merely stated that given it's full auto capibility a three position marking wasn't for "looks" alone. Sorry you took offense. No offense intended.
