I did a build last week and installed a Gunfighter Charging handle in it. I was very impressed. When pulling back on the left side of the 'T" the gun feels like it's a side charger. You don't get that feeling that the handle is twisting or torqueing like I did with the handle with the PRI big latch I have.
When the latch is pulled back it goes against the back of the handle instead of putting the load on the roll pin. I have seen pictures of a few of the standard handles with the pin ripped out from doing left side charging drills.
I ended up ordering 3 more to replace my other ones. This is a great product, I just wish they would stop coming out with this stuff as my Credit card has run screaming from the house.

I would like to do "side charging" but I am afraid I will bend the charging handle. Are gunfighter charging handles stronger?

Agreed.   Very happy with the purchase so far.  It is much smoother than what I was using before.

Does anyone have a link to where you can get one of these?

And will these fit on any upper? Or only the BCM uppers?

Thanks

I have a LMT tac latch and find it to be a good charging handle.  Has anyone run both the LMT and the BCM and how did they compare?

Yeah there's been a couple of threads about them. I love mine for my 15's. Just got one this weekend delivered for my AR10 and it works great, I'm sure they're still in stock if anyone is interested.

I have a few and they will soon replace all the others when funds allow.
Give one a try.

This is the next upgrade for my AR's. I've heard nothing but good reports ref these BCM Gunfighter charging handles.

Ever since I put one in mine, I have been side charging with my left hand. No problems whatsoever and it feels very sturdy.

I have a PRI GB now, how does the Gunfighter do with suppressed weapons compared to the GB? Is a suppressed version in the works?

Mod. 4 Thread I posted in GD

I personally don't really care for (even the medium) oversized latch for off-range use.

I prefer the LMT for duty and SHTF rifles to awnser the persons question above. The LMT is also solid and is a little more low profile. Less likely to snag on something, but just oversized enough to be an advantage.

I got the Mod 4 when they came out.  you can't beat the BCM Gunfighter

I got the Mod 3 (large latch).  I have a Magpul ACS stock on my rifle, which is a bit wider than the standard stock, and the latch sticks out in the perfect position for me with it.  I'd get a Mod 4 (Med latch) if I were running a standard width stock.  I was skeptical about spending the money at first, but I wouldn't run a rifle without one now.

I've done many side charges with a standard charging handle, no problems.  I understand the design of the BCM CH, and plan on getting one, just saying that my standard CH feels pretty solid in most cases.

I love mine, but I bought the large and it tends to snag on thing sometimes... and i've been pinched by it a couple of times. But thats mainly cause of the user, not the product.

mmmm I hope they make the BCM CH with a GB mod that would be sweet. cause thats what i need.

I recommend the Mod4 version to most users. It is great for scopes that is tight to the upper and most other applications. The Mod3 sticks out a little to far for me but I'm still running it on one of my 15's. I bought both versions to try them out and prefer the Mod4.

Having run tac latch's for years without breaking one, I tried a GF.  I still torque it to the right side fo teh rifle, but no issues with it (no issues with reular CH's either).  However, if you price out a tac latch and a CH, teh price is pretty close to the GF.

I just installed mine today and my upper receiver doesn't like it. It's very rough and is all ready scratched to shit. In fact, I'm pretty sure I can smell smoke when I pull it back and It's very wet. The upper is a VLTOR MUR. Just weird. I think I need to shot it and maybe it'll help. I replaced a gas buster, and it was smooth as silk so I dunno.

Love my mod 4 charging handles. turns the AR15 into a true feeling side charger.  The mod3 would've been too large and intrusive for me since I already feel a slight poke from the mod4 on the side of my ribcage right through my shirt  when not wearing any gear.
