Anyone know who is making Rock River Arms wood furniture sets?

Not ironwood, thier wooden AR furniture actually looks good, the RRA stuff is fugly looking....,><....:)

Dan Konrad of AR15woodstocks.com is the designer of those wood stocks, but he has licensed someone else, Bishop I think he said, not the big Bishop gunstock maker, but another Bishop, who is making those stocks en mass and selling them to RR, DPMS...
Dan Konrad does mostly select and fancy grades of walnut stocks at his shop.  But if you get even a standard grade from him it will be a lot better quality than the same style stock done by Bishop and sold through RR and DPMS.  
I got a walnut rifle length stock from DPMS through Brownells and it came with a very unsatisfactory finish.  Very dull and quite a few dents in the forearm.  If it had not been a special order I would have returned it.  I called Dan at AR15woodstocks about something else I needed and Dan gave me the scoop about how his pattern stocks wind up for sale by RR and DPMS and he told me how to refinish it the way he does his fancy grade stocks.  After getting that sprayed on dull finish off, raising the dents, and using Dan's finish he sent me, the stock that appeared lifeless is quite beautiful now.  It had a lot more figure after stripping and refinishing with clear than what the monotone finish Bishop applied.
If you want really nice wood, contact Dan Konrad at the above address, if you want a service grade laminate or walnut then DPMS or RR can give you want you want.  But if yours comes like mine did, be aware that what may look like a pig's ear on the outside can be redone to likely look like a silk purse.  The question is, can you live with your AR-15 looking like a silk purse?

By the way, the reason for the double sided cheek piece is to give the wood stock a lot more strength in the buffer tube area.  If you look at one without the cheek pieces, like the one on my .470, the wood around the buffer tube is quite thin and that thinness of course extends all the way back.  By doing the cheek pieces the wood is a lot more strong and a lot less likely to split if the stock takes a spill.  While some might think the cheek pieces look odd on an AR, they are not form without function.

I do chuckle a bit to read some saying that wood is terrible on an AR-15, yet they will send their ARs out to be cammoed in the wildest patterns for the sake of breaking up the outline of a solid black rifle.  How much more natural can one get than wood?  

I like the look and plan to do it on one of my rifles.  My RRA Predator Pursuit will be getting a wood A2 butt stock and pistol grip soon.

Yes. I want a wooden free-float quad-rail and collapsible stock. Make it in curley maple for bonus points.

I saw a set at a gun show that was polymer but in a dark brown wood-grain color. It was an adjustable stock, pistol grip and carbine hand guards. Probably not very good quality but it caught the eye.

Thanks Cold for the link!  Yeh, I can do wood ff tubes.  I use a carbon tube as a base and laminate super thin veneer over it.  These have been torture tested for heat buildup without delaminating.  The laminating resin I use actually has a secondary heat cure, so doing a couple mag dumps makes them stronger!!    I actually am doing a vented version for a guy in the next month or so.  I have done a few for guys and also can do a sleeve that covers the ACE Skeleton stock.  My server is down for some reason, so email and pic hosting are down.  Grrrrr! If you email me at [email protected] I can send you pix of a couple builds.  

Also, as Cold noted above, I have www.woodenammo.com as well which is a pretty fun side business.  Trophies, novelty, tables, lamps, etc.  All with giant ammo!!!  Your choice of wood of course.  5" diameter, 47" long max, ANY caliber!!

Boyd stocks out of michell South Dakota makes the RRA wood stock sets they are not avialble thru anyone else

The RRA wood is a tad dull, so this took some refinishing and whatnot. Pictures could be better, sorry.

Sorry buddy, but the lines on the RRA stock set are not anywhere as nice or as pleasing the Ironwood Designs set....<><....:)

I am going to wait until they come up with the round carbine hand guard, as I only own one rifle and the others are carbines.

Call Matt Schuster at Ironwood.  I believe he does have a round carbine HG in wood now.

Actually, the RRA set is made by Don Konrad Gun Works.  I prefer his smaller diameter handguards, but will admit that his grip and stock design leaves a little something to be desired.  In any case, here's my pseudo A1 Dissipator that I've almost got all the parts for.

If I get wood I want the old school wood with the white caps on the end of the butt stock and pistol grip.  Make it look like the 1950s vintage.
