Would the "The New Competitive Ar15: The Ultimate Technical Guide: The Rifle, the Ammunition, the Shooter" by Glen Zediker be a good reference for installing an ambi saftey selector and removing/reinstalling an AR-15 trigger?  For someone with no previous experience?  Any other suggestions?

IMHO the best book for installing those parts is the -23&P "Unit & Direct Support Maintenance Manual'.  Which can be downloaded for free from this site's home page (www.ar15.com).  Look in the lower left for the downloads link.
