Finally got around to testing and developing loads for my new RRA Predator Pursuit.  I have a lot of mixed once fired brass and some bulk FMJ bullets that were pulled from loads that got wet.  Using WC844 25.5 gr and old white box Win primers, got 2.5 inch group of 13 shots at 100 yards.  This group concerned me as I thought the PP should do better.

Then loaded some Hornady 55 gr Hornady V-Max with 25.5 gr H4895, Win primers and brass sorted to LC 91.  Much better group = less than one inch.  This was with a cross wind.   Hopefully I can work up a nicer load.  However, I am pleased to see the results from this nice rifle.

Sorting by year on a military case won't make much difference.   Once you get a promising load, try sorting them by weight and separate those that are excessively heavy or light.

Once you get a good load developed, you should be able to get groups at or below 0.5 MOA. Stay with powders with a burn rate very close to H335 or BL-C(2).  H4895 is in their but does not meter as well.

As long as you are chronographing, check the Standard deviation on each 10 shot string as that will tell you something about the consistency and the  accuracy potential at  ranges well over 100 yards,

Worked up a load with Hornady V-Max 55 grain, LC 91 brass, Winchester SR primers, and Hodgdon 4895 starting at 25.5 grains, adding  0.2 grains up to 26.1 grains.

Groups are at 100 yards from a bench (out my back door LOL).  The 25.9 load is smaller than the 25.7 but not like the 26.1 load.  The 26.1 group is actually 5 shots - 4 in the one hole group and one flyer.  Note*** 26 is max load per Hodgdon.  Still 0.6 including the flyer.

Point of aim for the 26.1 group is the intersection of the vertical red line and the lowest red circle.
