I am intrested in making some changes to my AR, and I have several parts collecting dust that I could throw on my general use carbine. So I went ahead and created these 8 configurations on the Larue website for comparison. The only parts pictured that I do not already own are the Aimpoint comp M2, surefire light, and the USGI carry handle; the rest I already have so cost should not be taken into consideration since it is a mute point. Also I just sold an EOtech so buying an Aimpoint and larue mount wouldnt kill me, but im not intrested in other optic ideas. Another thing to mention is the rail might seem strange, its a larue 12.0 laid over a front sight post. This is the closest thing I could make that resembles my DD Omega X 12.0 FPS rail. (I have a Daniel Defense compete m4 upper). The gun is my general purpose AR that I use for gun range shooting, and plinking when I go out to a friends land. I have an 870 for home defense so my life doesnt depend on this gun.

CTR4 but with a carbine length rail.  That extra rail length does nothing for you

Yeah I love the way an AR with a carry handle looks, but I hate to waste money on one when I already have a fixed Iron sight I can use with optics. I should prob. just drop the money on an Aimpoint sooner rather than later

Id rather put that money towards the aimpoint. I already have the 12.0 fps rail, and I feel its a waste to get another.

Sell the 12" rail on the EE and buy a 7".  If you don't want to do that then I vote CTR #2.

CTR4 without the light if your going to keep your support had farther out while shooting else the CTR2.  Don't usually need a light for a range/ plinking gun.

I disagree .The extra long Rail  is very useful !

I like CTR2 but with a MAD BUIS and a railed handguard.

Looks like no one is in favor of the carry handle or a2 stock.

have the rail cover it all and have front and rear flip up Troy's

They are good on 20in rifles and 18in SPR's but not on a cabine.

CTR 2 or A2 4 with empahsis on A2 4, i like the way it looks. May want to splurge on an A1 stock for shorter LOP is you dont like the A2, or even sully stock.
