If one gets an AR type rifle, is there any spare or replacement parts one should get as well?

Thanks

This is what I have for each rifle:

- complete BCG

- complete LPK

- gas tube

- action spring

ETA: I also keep extra firing pin retainers and extractor springs handy.

just buy another rifle and then you'll have a spare for everything.

springs and detents for the lower.  Extractor for the bolt.  Firing pin and retaining pin.

I like to keep a spare lpk, extractor springs, and another rifle. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have a spare gas tube, firing pin, castle nut, and end plate.

I keep these spare parts:

complete BCG
small bolt parts, extractor springs, extractor inserts, O-rings, extractor, gas rings, firing pin & firing pin retainers
complete LPK with spare grip
CH
action spring
buffer
FS
handguards
buttstock
detachable carry handle/ BUIS

... and the most important spare is another carbine/ rifle.

As it sits now, I don't have any spares for my 5.56. I do have a field repair parts kit for my Spikes upper, which I keep in a tube in my stock (I keep a .223 shell extractor in the other tube; I have one lower for three different uppers). Nothing for the .410 upper, and doubt I'll be getting anything for it since there aren’t even sources for magazines, at the moment.

The one thing I'm going to get is a spare bolt for my 5.56. I don't use a standard carrier (Spikes M4 upper with Adams Arms LE kit), so I'm not going to invest in that. The bolt will fit in my grip, so I can swap it out quick if something breaks.

Two is one, one is none...

I've got 3 and a box of spare parts.  2 spare BCG, 2 extra bolts, gas tubes, a lower parts kit, extra delta rings etc.  I could build another AR with all my spare parts, just need a Barrel and a Lower.

Just remember that spare parts eventually turn into another rifle!

Other than BCG and add a few things like firing pins, this is what I keep. I do need an extra bolt or two.

Exactly! My spare BCG and CH turned into a lightweight buid for Ms. Karma.
BK:American!

That is a dangerous game. Then you start getting back ups for your back ups. Ask me how I know.

I also have several ARs, a carbine, a midlength and a rifle gas system plus a 9mm carbine, that's how my ARs multiplied I keep on getting parts, barrels, uppers, complete lowers, stripped lowers, stocks, and they turned to another complete AR.

I'm in the middle of my current build project now and all I need is just the barrel assembly, stripped lower, buffer tube and I'll have my number 5 AR.
