Hey guys,
I took my new Sabre out and ran 400 rounds through it(ran flawless!). I took a picture of the bolt carrier before it was shot and after the 400 rounds. I cleaned and lubed it with Slip 2000 EWL. 1st time using this oil. I have used regular Slip 2000 for a while with awesome results but never on a new AR. Iused Breakfree on all my other AR several years ago and they always showed lots of wear after the 1st time out(wish I had pictures). I know this is not scientific or controlled in any way but it was a simple test to see how well the EWL works. It did an awesome job and even after 400 rounds in 100+ temputures it was still nice and wet.

You can see just the tips of the rails are showing a little wear but the rest is still all black.

Every since I switched from CLP to Slip 2000 ewl I've never looked back. I'm amazed how much longer the lube last and how much less

carbon build up there is.

I think I am going to give the Slip 2000 a try. Just curious, but how did the bolt turn out in comparison to the carrier?

Just what real effect does a small amount of wear have on how any AR-15 works or shoots?

My ARs with 500 rds have the same amount of wear in the same points and they've be lubed with CLP or machine gunners lube. I see nothing to get excited about.

Mobil 1 works as well as any thing I have used . And the price is right .

I got excited about it because it does everything and more than the CLP I used previously but is non-toxic. I would much prefer to use a non-toxic substance that works well to

clean my guns that all those other options

I have been more than pleased with Slip2000 EWL, I also use the Slip2000 EWL Grease.

Thanks for the info on Bravo. I have been using Mobil 1 and was just thinking about trying Slip 2000 EWLm if it was supposed to be much better. The Mobil 1 has been working fine for me so far....<><....:)

My 4 AR's lubed with Breakfree had no black finish left on the bolt carrier rails after the 1st 200 rounds. All 4 carriers had the finish worn off 100%. This Slip 2000 showed almost no wear and the black on the rails was still there.

i use machine gunners lube for pretty much everything, i also use royal purple sometimes

Mobil 1. Cheap and works better for lube than anything else.

Just make sure you apply a CLP after you degrease everything for protection purposes. Wipe dry, then apply mobil 1.

Unlike FP10 and CLP, when I'm done shooting, mobil 1 is still there.

It's just the park being worn away from the closer tolerances. Nothing to get weary about. I know some people that take fine sand paper and buff there bolt carrier rails to a high shine before they ever even fire the rifle. To make it smoother. I don't I just let it wear off. The wear area's are just the high spots.. Nothing to get excited over. WD.

yes...this....break-free = awful headache for me
