I am new to the forum and seeking some advice.  I have been doing some research on the forum and the lovely interweb but cannot find what I'm looking for.  What is a good price for the Colt LE6920?

I have read several threads about people getting them for around the 1300 dollar range as recent as this weekend.  I was at the gun show today in Kansas City and the guy was asking 1700.  This is my first gun purchase and I do not want to get ripped off.

Also in the threads I am spoke of they referred to it just as 6920 and not LE6920.  Same gun?  Different?

400 dollar difference seems like a lot of money that could be spent on ammo or some cool accessories.

During my research I found one online for 1299.99 that will ship to a dealer near me.  Not being familiar with the gun business is this a good option or not?  What are some good reputable online stores?

Thanks.

LE6920 and 6920 are the same

seems that $1300 shipped is a good price, so if you can do about that or better, you're doing well

i bought mine from Jensen Arms in CO and they were fine to deal with, hopefully some of the guys that have been on here longer can chime in with some of the board sponsors as i have not bought any full firearms from any of them.

yeah, $400 is alot.

LE 6920, 6920 same gun. $1299 is what they are going for at Houston area gun shows now. Do not pay $1700!  Ordering from a dealer is a good way to obtain a gun, I do it quite a bit. One advantage is that if the dealer is out of state you don't have to pay sales tax, though you probably need to pay a transfer fee to your local FFL. I'd order it at the $1299 price.

It warms my heart to see this That's only a few bucks more than I paid for my first one in 2005.

I just paid $1400 for a new one locally.  A bit high but I have never seen one around my town, mostly Bushmasters, some Rock Rivers.  With Colt going to the small pins I had to grab it.

Dealer here has a couple of them for $1200.00.  They also had as of friday a colt 6940 for around $1700.00 if anyone is looking.

Thanks for the info.  Looks like the 1300 range is about right.  I'm going to call local dealers tomorrow.  Maybe I'll get lucky.

as one of the guys above mentioned, snag a small pinned FCG so if in the future you want to swap trigger assemblies, you have more choices.  I believe you want LEO53XXX or greater.  The one I just snagged is a LEO6XXXX, but I was talking to someone via email that had LEO4XXXXs and he'd just gotten them.

I just picked one up at the last gun show in fort worth for $1199.  There were a couple other tables that had them for $1699 - that's a pretty significant price difference..  It seems the prices are starting to come down.  All we need now is for ammo prices to drop

$1299 is as good as you can hope for nowadays. If I was in the market, I'd pay that +FFL and be done with it.

You can find them factory sealed NIB for $1250 all day long on Gunbroker.  Only reason I went with $1275 is I've bought from that Dealer before and had a good experience...

Interesting, I just looked on Gunbroker for 6940s and there were fewer listed. Still no bids on anything over $1500 or so. I'm not sure why they won't just lower their prices to move the inventory, I guess they will sooner or later.

Jensen Arms.  It hasn't shipped as I completed the Auction Saturday.  Jensen Arms ships the work day (M-F) after receiving FFL info and payment.  If you order tomorrow (monday) and get the FFL faxed in before close and pay by CC, it will ship out Tuesday with mine...
