I really like the LMT but it is too heavy and too long.
The Vltor club foot fixes both those problems..

Want to try a UBR but cant find one..

What does ARFCOM say??

UBR is heavier than the SOPMOD and Vltor.

I, for one, Like my facial hair so it is SOPMOD and UBR for me. I sold my Vltor...

Gotta say, you don't hear a lot of complaints about the SOPMOD.

I've had a SOPMOD for years and have never considered a change.  The cheekweld is awesome and the water tight storage a big plus.

I have a
LMT D2000 M4  came with SOPMOD

Bushmaster VLTOR lower
LMT M4 upper

SOPMOD is the better STOCK of the 2 M4`s I have

My LMT D2000 M4  is Balance  out well

I will never sell my SOPMOD  fits ME great

The VLTOR well Its on my back Up M4

BTW

I dont grow a long beard but have gone without shaveing awhile

I never had problems with VLTOR & HAIR

maybe you have to grow it real long

I wouldn't even consider anything other than Vltor. Unless it is strictly long range, I would use the JAE-100.

You run the LMT closed and its still too long?

I use a PR-4 mount for my 1pt BH sling
I cant close all the way
Im on the next setting
its around 9 inches +

Im only 5`9

all the way closed is to short for me while shooting outside

THE VLTOR closed all the way my Bushy/LMT 14.5  is 30.5 inches

would be good for my 12year old daughter

Or shooting inside My house
But if I was that worried I would go 10.5 or 11.5

-I have never had a facial hair problem with the Vltor. I have 2 of them on other guns..
-I love the molded rubber buttpad on the SOPMOD
-I run the SOPMOD all the way closed and it is the same length as a Vltor on the #2 spot which is where I run it 99% of the time and is perfect for me. The problem is if I want to go shorter in winter or somthing I cant like I can with the Vltor. The opther problem with length is with the SOPMOD all the way closed there isnt much room for my Magpul ASP sling attachment and MS2 sling..

Have you tried taken off rubber butt pad on SOPMOD it snaps on

My LMT 14.5
Bushmaster lower
VLTOR

its 30.5 inches with stock closed all the way

I admitt my D2000 SOPMOD w/ PR-4 is longer than my Spare/Back up M4

In cold weather and heavy coat I could see what your talking about

I havent shot in the cold for awhile

BTW

My DAd was a sarge in the AF in the early 60`s
I have his winter coat with the wolf fur
I will never get rid of it? even after moveing to SWFL 5/6 years ago

I will try it on with SOPMOD/PR-4 mount   Im 5`9 with my shoes
and compare it with my 30.5 LMT/Bushy VLTOR

FWIW, a piece of tape covering the groove on the Vltor stock where the battery tube and stock meet will solve the facial hair issue I use rubberized tape on both sides so I can shoot weak side as well.

EMOD FTMFW.........and I have facial hair.

the storage compartment is sweet too, I keep a little bottle of larue machine gunners lube in there.

and a cookie, for when I'm in the shower.

The EMOD are longer and heavier than the SOPMOD so if you wanted a shorter and lighter stock, the EMOD would be a wrong choice for you.

I've got three Vltor Modstocks, standard carbine, clubfoot, and EMOD, my standard carbine Modstock fit the most loose on my LMT and Vltor milspec size buffer tubes.

I'd suggest maybe waiting for the soon to be released Magpul ACS carbine stock which locks up tight like the CTR stock but have a better cheek weld, storage space and lighter than the EMOD.

I have the Vltor club foot and the Vltor Emod. I hate how long and heavy the Emod is but I love the butt pad and how it shoulders. I have the slip on pad for the club foot but don't like it, wish they would make it like the emod, it would be the perfect stock!

keep the Sopmod......I was in the same boat  I wanted to possibly swap the Sopmod for a standard VLTOR carbine stock........fondled them both just the other day.

Here is what I noticed:

the VLTOR stock is not that much shorter than the Sopmod

the Sopmod was a bit heavier......then I took off the rubber but pad from the back...it snaps right off.  After that the weight of both were pretty much on par with each other.

the Sopmod has a better cheek weld

take the rubber but pad off......I swear those things are what make the sopmod heavier.  Keep the Sopmod stock

VLTOR all the way.

i used a SOPMOD for a few years and the first time i picked up an M4 with the VLTOR i was sold.

for me, i like the fact that the VLTOR is slightly angled at the rear. for me it's more comfortable to shoot.

my LMT and Bushy both have modstocks and i have a modstock on my desk for when my form 4 SBR gets here

i'm in the process of finding a perfect solution for the face hair/VLTOR issue. i'll let you know what i come up with.

I tried a few and they're nice but after a few months I switched back to the Sopmod.  The standard Vltor is better than the standard M4 but I'm actually partial to the fiberlight CAR stocks too.....

The ACS is a lot less complicated than the UBR, my guess is that they will be a pretty steadily supplied item when they are released.  As far as the EMAG, I don't think there is a huge priority for them when compared to other Magpul projects, so I would guess they will take longer to see.  I'll point out that this is just a guess on my  part.

Ahh, Stickman, your sigline killed me! At least the last line.

STICKMAN

The ACS Stock LOOKS like a nice telestock
I havent yet seen one at the gun shop!

But if the ACS has the nice cheek weld like the SOPMOD and Fits nice
It may be a winner

Do you carry them ? if so what is the retail
