[ARCHIVED THREAD] - new ar, is price ok?

I recently, (yesterday) purchased a bushmaster for $990.00 Tax included and want to know if I did okay. Any AR style rifle is hard to come by and I decided to purchase now, as the price keeps going up. I did not get what I wanted, but I don't see the enviroment getting any betterfor buyers. I wanted an A2 version, but settleed for a Bushmaster 16 inch, collapsable stock with a removable carry handle. The wife , upon seeing it said "thats a $1000.00 gun?" "it's so smaller than any of your others"
I love that woman, but she just do'nt know

As others have said, that's a decent price today. Also, I think you'll be happier with the 16" A3 in the end. A2s are nice, but the A3 is so much more versatile.

Bushmaster M4s went for that before Obama. Sure you could find one for less but that was the normal price, maybe a bit higher.

to me i say you got a great deal. I just bought the exact same rifle and paid 1261 after taxes. That just chaps my butt.
