Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Barrel Dimensions... Need a little help

Ok, a buddy o mine is gonna make a barrel of mine.
I want a contour similiar to a noveske stainless steel, but not sure as heavy.
It will be a 14.7 stainless steel barrel and I want a midlength gas system.
Do I need to tell him to do anything to the gas port? It will use a vltor .750 block.
What type of contour dimensions should I use?

Who's barrel blank are you using?  I'll vote .725 under the handguards and .725 out front - medium light.  Have him make a case gauge out of two inches of the barrel scrap piece.  Post pics when done...
